Sell to MSHD
Full or partial home contents, storage units, garage contents, and gold, silver and platinum. We quote from your walkthrough videos, and see gold, silver and platinum in person.
How it works
- Fill in the form below and send us the WhatsApp with the button.Go to the form
- We check you’re in an area we work in and reply asking for a walkthrough video. Videos only, except gold, silver and platinum. (NB: please check our walkthrough video guide.)Walkthrough video guide
- We view the video and give you a quote. If you’re happy, we set a date. No date yet (e.g. no plane tickets)? That’s fine. The quote is valid for 30 days and can be extended.
- Collection day: a quick walkthrough to check everything matches the video. If items are missing or not as shown, the price may change. We keep the right to adjust the price on collection.
- Have ready: a printed copy of your South African ID and proof of address (e.g. a bank statement). Sellers sign our purchase book as the law requires.
- We load up and you get paid on the spot, in cash or instant EFT.A review would be much appreciated.

Walkthrough video guide
Be sure to fill in the form first and send the WhatsApp.
Walk and talk
- Start at the front door. Walk room by room.
- Talk the whole way. A silent video is not enough, we need your voice.
What is included and what is not
- Say what is for sale.
- Say what is not included. For example: "The PlayStation is staying. The lamp goes back to my mother."
- If something is on camera and it is not included, say so.
- Name things in groups. For example: "The TV and everything on the shelves is included." Then everything in that group is included, even a Bible lying on the shelf. You don't have to list every item.
Damage and faults
- Tell us about cigarette burns, broken bases, tears, big scratches and dents.
- Tell us what does not work. For example, a TV that shows lines.
- Smart TV? Say so, and say if it is outdated.
- Beds and couches: show them, and mention any damage or stains.
Cupboards and kitchen
- Open them for a quick look.
- No need to count glasses or tell us the brand, age or story.
Don't tidy up
- Dust, dirt and mess are fine. We've seen it all.
Garage and storage
- Same thing. Walk and talk.
Example of what to say out loud
"This is the lounge. The couch is included, there's a stain on the left arm. The rug is included. The side table and the lamp are included, but the lamp is not working."
Sending the videos
- Send the form message first. We'll reply, then you send your videos in the same WhatsApp chat.
- Send two or three shorter videos, a few rooms each. Not one video per item.
- If a video gets long, end it and start a new one.
- WhatsApp may lower the quality. That's fine.
What we buy
Gold, silver and platinum
Scrap gold, broken chains, single earrings, broken jewellery if it is gold, silver or platinum, coins (gold and silver, e.g. Krugerrands), and silver cutlery and silverware. We buy for the metal content, not costume jewellery.
Tell us beforehand, on the form or on WhatsApp. We look at it in person and give you a price on the day. If you’re not happy, you keep it.
Full home contents
Including furniture, appliances, electronics, kitchenware.
Partial home contents
A few rooms or part of a house. Including furniture, appliances, electronics, kitchenware.
Storage units
The whole unit or part of it. Including furniture, appliances, electronics, kitchenware.
Garage contents
Including garden and household items and home tools (the kind used at a house).
Clothing, linen and low-value items
We don’t specifically pay for clothing, linen, bedding and other lower-value items. But they are welcome as part of a bigger full or partial home contents clearance, and a lot of it gets donated.
We don’t dump or hand out clothes directly: we sell the items on, so the money goes to better use.
Do good: leave your unwanted clothing, bedding, linen, toys and small items with us. We pay for the higher-value items, and the small stuff is included.
Including furniture, appliances, electronics, kitchenware, garden and household items, toys, bedding, general home goods and home tools (the kind used at a house).
We don’t buy industrial or workshop tools or big machinery.
Second-hand building material (doors, windows, toilets, basins, baths): we don’t buy it on its own, but if it is part of a bigger home or yard clearance, we take it along.
